FCSN Youth Volunteer Aarav Sharma Engages Special Needs Students in Programming and Pre-Algebra

During the past couple years, Archbishop Mitty High School Sophomore Aarav Sharma taught a 12 week Scratch Language class and a week long Pre-Algebra summer camp for FCSN students with the hopes of helping special needs students pursue STEM in the future. Sharma’s previous experience with Scratch has given him the experience needed to help guide his students through the language and create an efficient curriculum for his class. Summer Drama Camp Returns with Disney’s “Cars”

From July 13th to July 16th, FCSN organized its yearly drama camp for special needs students: a four-day program featuring three days of full-cast rehearsals culminating in a performance on the last day. The 2022 Spring Carnival: Fostering a Community for Special Needs

FCSN’s Spring Carnival event took place on May 21, 2022 from 12:30 pm-4:30 pm. Unifying people experiencing similar situations and obstacles fosters a strong community of support and encouragement. Hoping to achieve that purpose, the 2022 Spring Carnival held by FCSN and Youth for Goods brought together special needs families, introducing them to helpful programs, mingle, and enjoy activities and snacks. FCSN School Clubs: A Mission of Support and Awareness of the Special Needs Community for Youth

“Channeling hope, support, and awareness toward the special needs community” serves as the core mission of 16 FCSN clubs across California, each fully dedicated to supporting the special needs community. Blue Devils Special Needs Guard–Paving the Way to Inclusive Performing Arts

On April 2, 2022, the Blue Devils’ Special Needs Guard performed at the Circuit Championship held at Independence High School. They were the last performance of the day — a position typically reserved for the most honored performing position. Dancing to This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, a song that fittingly describes the challenging journey of all special needs performers, all the members gave it their all and proudly showed off the moves that they have practiced for so long. Pilot Phase of Supported Living Services for High Needs Individuals

FCSN Supported Living Services has just begun its journey in branching out into including individuals with high support needs. On April 9th, 15 families attended a discussion to learn more about this program. FCSN has also completed the intake of two pilot clients. The program, while in its infancy, has significant potential in providing numerous families with the support they need.
