Interview with Ms. Chuang: Helping Others Find Their Voice Through Speech-Language Pathology

Ming-Chen Chuang is a Speech Language Pathologist at the Santa Clara County of Education, where she provides services to students with neuroatypical development in areas of speech, language, and communication. She received her Bachelor’s degree from National Chengchi University, Taiwan, and her Master’s degrees in linguistics and Speech and Language Services from UNC Chapel Hill. First introduced to FCSN through one of her student’s parents, Chuang has since given several talks at FCSN about effective communication skills for special needs families. Fishing Fun Day at Sandy Wool Lake 

On April 13, 2025, over 150 FCSN kids, family members and volunteers had a fun fishing day at Sandy Wool Lake, Ed Levin County Park. Sandy Wool Lake is a serene 14-acre reservoir located in Ed R. Levin County Park in the eastern foothills of Milpitas, California. This tranquil spot is surrounded by lush greenery. The event was organized and coordinated by Rotary Club of Almaden Valley – Willow Glen Alman, FCSN and Santa Clara County Park (SCCP). 11th Annual Special Needs Talent Showcase

On April 12 from 4:00 to 6:30 P.M., Friends of Children with Special Needs (FCSN) hosted its 11th annual Special Needs Talent Showcase (SNTS) at the Santa Clara Convention Center, a day ripe with unique performances from passionate individuals. Ten finalists competed and seven honorable mentions also presented their talents, all of whom were selected from the preliminary auditions held on January 26. At the 2024 SNTS contest, I performed my original song, “I AIN’T BACKING DOWN.” I wasn’t sure if I
would win, but I set a goal to earn the People’s Choice Award because, to me, there’s something deeply
