Almaden Valley-Willow Glen Rotary Club and FCSN Celebrate With Summer Barbecue

On August 11th, 2023, Almaden Valley-Willow Glen (AVWG) Rotary Club hosted a BBQ at John D. Morgan Park with the assistance of the City of Campbell. With over 200 attendees, the BBQ celebrated the camaraderie between the AVWG Rotary Club and FCSN. Storytelling Through Art: Spotlight on FCSN’s Landscape Painting Class

As the summer sun bathes the cozy Chenming & Margaret Hu Center in a warm glow, young artists gather around the palettes and paints, eager for another day of imagination and relaxation. Led by Mishika Agarwal, FCSN’s Landscape Painting Class has become a cherished weekly event for both students and volunteers alike. With the first class launched on June 17th, the program takes place every Saturday and provides FCSN students an artistic sanctuary where they can explore the world of art and tell their stories through various mediums. AVWG Rotary Club Coordinates South Bay Center Cleanup

On July 22nd from 9-12 a.m., the Almaden Valley-Willow Glen Rotary Club joined forces with volunteers from FCSN to complete the first phase of the FCSN South Bay Center cleanup project. Friends Coffee and Tea brought refreshments, and the volunteers a cheerful, can-do attitude; the morning of smiles, sweat, and service resulted in a makeover to beautify both FCSN’s clients’ and Friends Coffee and Tea customers’ experiences at the South Bay site. WeDo2 Lego Spring Class Builds Robotics Knowledge at FCSN

In the spring of 2023, Team Alphabots, a FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team, hosted a series of 8 weekly Lego robotics classes to introduce FCSN students to engineering and programming skill sets. With the mission of spreading awareness of STEM fields to young and underprivileged students in the Bay Area, Alphabots’ nonprofit organization, Alphabots4All, reached out to FCSN hoping to assist special needs students in developing an interest in robotics. Biology For Curious Kids

Originally starting as our passion for biological sciences, Biology for Curious Kids has since blossomed into a virtual enrichment program to help kids with special needs learn about biology and its applications to the real world. Through cartoons and thoughtful explanations, the class focuses on engaging students and aiding them in discovering the ever-changing world. FCSN School Clubs: A Mission of Support and Awareness of the Special Needs Community for Youth

“Channeling hope, support, and awareness toward the special needs community” serves as the core mission of 16 FCSN clubs across California, each fully dedicated to supporting the special needs community.
