I went to Turtleworks for the Hoop Project Club. I learned laser engraving. My teacher is Sherry Meng. There were 6 students in my class.

First we got there to download the xTool Studio software and connect to the internet with a password. Ms. Sherry taught us basic functions. For example Text Tool, Shape Tool, Element Tool, Move objects, Resize objects, and Rotate objects.

For the first design I typed my name. I resized it and moved it to the center.

For the second design I typed Best Mom Ever. I used the curve tool to text. I also centered the text.

The third design I created was a frame with my initials. The frame was rectangular. I chose my favorite color blue.

I also made two more designs for Motherโ€™s Day.

Ms. Sherry taught me hand by hand how to center my design in the machine. It took only 20 seconds to engrave the design. I got a keychain with my initials.

I really enjoyed this class. I am looking forward to the next class!
